At W U D D Studio, everything begins with a simple idea: beauty in the small things.

Starting small, we create minimal objects each shaped with care using traditional hand tools, and occasionally supported by small-scale machinery where needed. Our materials are sustainably sourced, and our process is grounded in a deep connection to nature and a respect for the craft.

This studio is more than just a workspace—it's a philosophy. We believe in slow craftsmanship: in making objects that are not only functional but also carry a quiet elegance. While some machines assist in the early stages, it is the handwork that brings each piece to life. The goal is to create objects that add beauty, purpose, and a sense of calm to everyday life.

Our mission is to craft handmade wooden objects that are both functional and artful—simple yet meaningful pieces that feel at home in your space.

Our purpose is to bring warmth, beauty, and sustainability into people’s lives through thoughtfully designed small objects. By working closely with natural materials, using traditional hand tools, and supplementing with light machinery when necessary, we celebrate craftsmanship, connection, and the quiet joy of the handmade.

Behind WUDD STUDIO

My path to discovering woodwork and design wasn’t straightforward—it was a journey of trial, exploration, and rediscovery. Before I ever picked up a chisel or touched a piece of timber, I explored very different fields: biomedicine, business, architecture, and psychology. I enrolled in each hoping to find a spark, but none of them felt right. I struggled to stay engaged and couldn’t see a future in any of them.

One day, I decided to take a new approach. While browsing through college courses, I felt drawn—almost instinctively—to something involving wood. I’m not entirely sure why, but it felt right. That search led me to a one-year Architectural Joinery course at Derby College.

The moment I stepped into the workshop, I was struck by the smell of wood and the atmosphere—it felt natural, like I belonged. Maybe it’s because as a kid, I used to walk past a local joinery workshop and was always captivated by the craft happening inside.

That course introduced me to the world of hand tools and the beauty of working with timber. We started with softwoods, but even then, I was hooked. I wanted to go deeper, so I found and applied to the Furniture Design and Make course at Rycotewood Furniture Centre. I was accepted—and that marked the beginning of a much deeper journey.

Since then, I’ve been building not only my skills but also a vision. That vision led to the creation of W U D D Studio—a brand and workshop space where I bring together everything I’ve learned and continue to explore the art of woodwork. W U D D Studio is a reflection of my journey, my connection to craft, and my belief in the beauty of working by hand.

Today, I’m still learning, experimenting, and growing. This industry is full of creativity and endless discovery. Woodwork, especially using hand tools, has become more than a craft—it’s a passion, and it feels like home.
